Do you know what the rings of a tree stump represent? 99% of you reading this probably thought, “years!” in your head. If you did, you are only half right. The true answer is similar to how you should be growing wealth.
I am in the process of clearing a plot of land to develop a home on it. From time to time I enjoy taking my daughters out to the land to witness the development at all stages. Plus, I am too giddy to not continually check in on it myself. Update- the foundation has finally been poured! I & my youngest daughter, Betsy, were on the land 2 weeks ago when we stumbled upon a few worker’s chainsawing down a monstrous pine.
We had been working on design plans to preserve the pine, but it simply was not going to work and lead us to cut it down. I asked the worker to saw off a medallion for me too.
We had been working on design plans to preserve the pine, but it simply was not going to work and lead us to cut it down. I asked the worker to saw off a medallion for me to bring home with the intention of making some sort of table out of it. After miraculously lugging it all the way to my old Yukon, I put it down & begin to think of exactly what the rings represent….
The rings within a tree actually represent years of growth! Now, if years & growth go hand in hand here, did the tree ever get smaller in any given year? Of course not! The tree grew every single year it was alive.
If you look really closely to a tree stump, you can see that some years the tree grew more than other years. While there are many reasons for that, they all point back to the environment around the tree. How much water did the tree receive that year? Was it a year full of sunlight? Did the tree grow a parasitical guest like mistletoe that stunted growth? However, despite the environmental factors, the tree continued to grow each and every year.
The tree is a great example of what we should be looking for in places to store our wealth. The environment around your wealth will absolutely impact the way it grows. Are you throwing money into a plan that can go backward, or does your strategy grow each & every year? Is there light being shed on where your dollars are going, or are you uneducated on the matter? Do you have a coach continuing to assist you in growing wealth, or are you going throw the same motions each and every year?
The days of you accepting the idea that losing money is normal are over. It’s time to take back control of your financial environment & begin growing wealth guaranteed.
